Norman Yatooma founded Norman Yatooma & Associates, P.C. in August of 2000, after leaving one of Michigan's largest law firms, Butzel Long, P.C. In the last decade, Mr. Yatooma catapulted Norman Yatooma & Associates, P.C. to a preeminent and nationally recognized full-service law firm. Mr. Yatooma represents corporate and individual clients on a domestic and international level, personally concentrating his litigation practice in franchise, class action and corporate law. With significant state and federal court litigation and arbitration experience, including jury trials and arbitration hearings, Mr. Yatooma is able to fluently maneuver his cases through any adjudication proceeding. Mr. Yatooma is an outstanding negotiator, having attained excellent results for his clients, including large settlements, successful contracts and business ventures, and other advantageous transactions.

Mr. Yatooma’s negotiation skills have also been utilized as a certified lobbyist, able to provide both public and private clients with quality, issue-based representation before Congress and the Executive Branch of Government. As a Director of Charities Advocating Responsible Solutions, Inc., he worked with non-profit clients to oppose legislation that would have had a significantly negative effect on charitable giving throughout the country.

Mr. Yatooma has been published countless times for his accomplishments. Mr. Yatooma has been interviewed by 60 Minutes, Fox National News, ABC, CBS, and NBC Affiliates, as well as People Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, New York Times, Money Magazine, Fortune Small Business, CNBC Business News, INC. Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, Associated Press, Newsweek, BE Magazine, Bloomberg News, The Franchise Times, Crain’s Detroit Business, Detroit News, and Detroit Free Press, among many others. Mr. Yatooma was also named one of the top “Forty under Forty” by Crain’s Detroit Business which annually honors 40 people under the age of 40 for their outstanding business achievements in Michigan. Mr. Yatooma was featured in The Franchise Times as one of the nation’s preeminent franchise lawyers. Mr. Yatooma is also named a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyer Magazine, which recognizes attorneys who receive the highest point totals, as chosen by their peers and through independent research. Mr. Yatooma was chosen as the Corp! Magazine Diversity Award recipient and is the recipient of the Outstanding Community Service Award from the Michigan Youth Appreciation Foundation. In recognition for his contributions and commitment to the Detroit Region, Mr. Yatooma was honored as the recipient of the Focus Detroit Award. In addition, Mr. Yatooma was conferred with the Taylor University Personal Achievement award. Also, Mr. Yatooma recently received the Saks Fifth Avenue Father’s Day Honors award.

Mr. Yatooma practices in all Michigan trial and appellate courts, as well as before federal courts and arbitration panels across the United States. He has been admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Michigan, as well as before the federal courts of Florida, California, Utah, and Louisiana, before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Ninth Circuit, and before the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Yatooma is an active member of the Litigation, Franchise Law, Business Law, and Real Estate Law Sections of the State Bar of Michigan. Mr. Yatooma is also a former Co-Chairman of the National Business Advisory Council.

In addition to his many professional accomplishments, Mr. Yatooma has continued to maintain his standing in the community through his involvement in many charitable organizations, including his role as Founder and President of Yatooma’s Foundation For The Kids founded in the name and memory of his late father. Mr. Yatooma also serves as Chairman and President of Charity Motors, Inc., Board Member of the Alzheimer's Association, Advisory Board Member of the Anti-Defamation League, Advisory Board Member of Oak Park Business and Education Alliance, Board Member of the Band of Angels, and Council Member of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Advisory Council. Additionally, Mr. Yatooma conducts regular public speaking engagements for various community groups, has served as a program participant on Citadel’s 760 AM radio station WJR’s “Call For Action,” and as a guest speaker/lecturer for multiple not for profit organizations.

Mr. Yatooma graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and minors in Communications and English Writing from Taylor University, where he received the United States Achievement Academy's All-American Scholar and National Collegiate Student Government Awards, among several others. Mr. Yatooma remains actively involved in his alma mater and has served as Manager of the Taylor Tomorrow Capital Campaign. Mr. Yatooma received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana where he graduated with honors and was named to the Order of Barristers. Mr. Yatooma was also a recipient of the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition First Place Award and the Moot Court Best Oralist Award, as judged and awarded by the late Chief Justice of the United States William Rehnquist. Having been awarded a place on the National Moot Court Team and the Moot Court Board, Mr. Yatooma is now honored to serve as an alumnus Moot Court Judge.
